The department offers two undergraduate and one graduate degree along with four post-baccalaureate certificates. All degrees are accredited/certified by the bodies overseeing their respective discipline as a testament to their quality, rigor, and industry-aligned knowledge development. Furthermore, our BS in Health Information Management (HIM) and HIM Graduate Certificate are the only programs in North Carolina that earn you eligibility to sit for the coveted Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credentialing examination.
Looking for a flexible program to fit your busy schedule? All degrees and certificates are available full-time and part-time in in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
The BS HIM and MS HIIM are the only Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) accredited programs in North Carolina.
The BS HSM holds full certification with the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and has the distinction of being a national model.
We are a Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Approved Education Partner (AEP).
We are the proud recipient of a $144,000 Simio LLC grant to support our teaching and research initiatives using the industry-leading Simio simulation software.
